Copyright Information
All material in the Scottish Borders Memory Bank is subject to copyright and any unauthorised use is prohibited.
Contributions to the Scottish Borders Memory Bank fall into one of two categories.
1. The majority of contributors have agreed in writing to assign the copyright in their contribution to the Scottish Borders
Memory Bank. This means that any use of the material for publication and broadcast of any sort should be with the prior agreement
of the Scottish Borders Memory Bank, or by default with the Scottish Borders Council. (Please see the “Item Details” for the
copyright information on each individual contribution).
2. A number of contributions have their copyright assigned elsewhere. In these cases, the Scottish Borders Memory Bank has
obtained written permission for these contributions to appear in the Scottish Borders Memory Bank databases and archives.
Should any material in this category be wanted for publication and broadcast of any sort, permission must be sought from the
original copyright holders. (Please see the “Item Details” for the copyright information on each individual contribution).
With regard to the Scottish Borders Memory Bank, please remember that copyright regulations are not intended as a barrier
but as some measure of protection for the intellectual, personal and moral rights of the private individuals who have been
willing to contribute to this archive.
